Rajiv Gandhi National Ground Water Training and Research Institute (RGNGWTRI) is engaged in capacity building of ground water professionals and sub-professionals in core and applied field of ground water science since 1997.
- To be an international Centre of Excellence for providing training to ground water professionals and sub- professionals in ground water investigations, development and management techniques.
- Involve stakeholders in water management with the thrust on Capacity Building of the Farmers, Panchayat Raj Institutions, NGOs, VOs, Industries etc. and inculcate Participatory Ground Water Management.
- Innovations through scientific, technical and socio-economic research for Ground Water Resources Management in Collaboration with reputed National and International Research & Development Institutions.
- Strengthening of institutional framework to support training & ongoing research.
- To serve as repository of ideas and develop information, regional communication, documentation, Distance and e- learning service etc.
- Information & knowledge dissemination and technology transfer.
Targets for the ongoing AAP 2024 - 25
- Total of 130 trainings of various types (Tier I - 60, Tier 20 - 14 & Tier III - 50) are scheduled during the training calendar 2024-25 spanning April 2024 to March 2025.The training programes cover three verticals of capacity building viz, Domain specific trainings, behavioural and functional competency improving training programmes. The training calendar includes 31 mandatory trainings for Scientific, Ministerial and Engineering cadres of CGWB, 5 demand driven trainings for Implementing Agencies and state government agencies, 3 international trainings for AARDO countries, 3 Trainings under National Hydrology Project, 1 Water Auditor Certification training and 2 trainings marked for Synergy of three Training institutes (RGNGWTRI, NERIWALM AND NWA), under Ministry of Jal Shakti Details of trainings are furnished in the trailing calendar 2024 - 25.
